My daughter has recently been diagnosed with pleural thickening, which they are still investigating. I believe they’ve ruled out cancer, but cannot diagnose why she has it & are still developing a medical plan. I’ve never suffered from anxiety, but cannot stop googling & thinking about it. I’m a complete mess. She has pain that I can’t fix. I want someone to tell me that it will be ok, but no one can. Any help would be most welcome

((((Hugs)))) Worriedmum. It's so hard when someone you love is suffering and there's nothing you can do to wort it. But I'm sure your daughter really appreciates your love and support as she faces all this. Why not ring the BLF helpline and get more information from the BLF nurses about her condition.
Of course you'll be worried. I'm afraid I can't help, but you have good advice from Ergendl to ring BLF nurses. Dr Google can sometimes mislead and worry you more so try not to Google at all (easily said, I know). You must be thankful its not cancer, which is really good news. I wish you and your daughter all the best. Do keep us updated when you can. Warm hugs xx
Hello Worried Mum. My heart goes out to you. It's tough when your children, even though now adults, are ill in a way you don't know enough about, and might be very serious. But you're getting feedback from doctors, saying not cancer, which is a good start. As time goes on, you'll both learn more.
You've had some good advice from Ergendl and Dedalus above. I agree with them. BLF nurses are better than Google. It's easy to follow one link after another on Google, reading worst case scenarios until you lose your sense of perspective, then can't resist going further. It doesn't help in the end! Real live medical people are your best bet. Wishing you and your daughter love and good wishes 💕 Hope you know more soon, and your daughter's health improves soon.
Thank you very much Breathezee, kind words indeed. I have spoken to her doctor and we are reviewing pain relief. Take care.
