asthma inhalers

recently been in hospital (not for asthma) and when I left they checked my meds and have changed one of my inhalers without me knowing. I thought the doctors where the ones to do that not the hospital pharmacy. When i queried this when i got home and unpacked my meds i rang and they said it was an up to date type and what i should be on!!!!!. Also they had taken some of my warfarin as they said they were out of date, which I knew they were not as I check on a regular basis the smaller doses. I am so angry .

Hi Poppit Have they replaced the warfarin they took off you? You could speak to the.hospital, but if the've replaced them I wouldn't worry.

no they did not as they said it was a dose that i do not need, did not look at my record as my warfarin is changed every two weeks or sooner depending on blood test

My GP is fuming and has made an official complaint, saying if I had not taken my tablets in with me they would have had to supply them. Has told me next time rushed in which will happen again do not take them with me or have them brought in.

I had this problem so many times with the hospital pharmacy as I left hospital. Three times they "stole " my pill cutter, a really good one that wasn't cheap. Anyway the fourth time ( I keep all my current meds in a little wicker box so that the ambulance men can just pick it up along with me ) at that time I had no family near to bring things in . So when I was told that I could go home I refused to leave because they'd pinched yet another. They did find me one eventually ! Not a patch on my original though. Sheila

I keep mine in a weetabix tin box and this goes to and from hospital with me, they took the book down to pharmacy just as I was about to leave all discharge papers where ready and transport was arranged and waiting for me. Whilst I was in the Stroke unit (ward) they just used my tablets from the tin each time and put them back in locker, so did not understand it. I do not live alone at home I have a husband
