Good afternoon, never before have I ever had such awful results from scrubbing floors, cleaning bathrooms etc. Just using a very mild chemical, a bit of Mr. Clean, and have been feeling different ever since. My nostrils burn, my oxygen level has gone down by 4, and my chest feels very heavy.
I think this is from my cleaning spurt yesterday, does anybody have any advice for me. Thank You
Gentle Hugs
Vicky

Hi Vicky, if you go on Google and type in how to clean with natural products it will not only tell you how to clean but how to make them. And there is no chemicals involved. Please let me know how you get on, hope it helps. Love Bernadette 😳 xx
I will look , have had no energy today but my other symptoms have gone. Boy I will watch all the scents that bother me, it seems like there are lots. Thank you Bernadette
White vinegar, bicarbonate of soda and lemon juice covers a broad spectrum of cleaning issues instead of using chemical cleaners. There is plenty of advice on usage on You-tube. There are also sustainable cleaning products you can buy in supermarkets which do not have any chemicals as ingredients.
Thank you next time I go to town I will check and also pick up some lemon juice, Never have I ever felt like this, and I know I have to take it easy on chemicals and I thought I was.
Vic44, I have eosinophil asthma and the dr told.me to use no chemicals. I use Murphy’s oil soap for dusting. It is wet but I use a dry cloth to dry it. It has a light clean smell. For my hardwood floors I use steam only and it does an amazing job. For cabinet tops and fruit I use vinegar and water. Does an awesome job. I soak all my fruit in water and vinegar.
I find I can manage very well by using a cleaner with white vinegar in for most things and baby wipes have become invaluable. For floor cleaning I use a liquid cleaner that goes in the water and I have no problem with that. Stay away from anything that is a spray or has a strong perfumed smell they are awful for us. Hope this helps
I took the easy way out. I employed a cleaner and she does everything. She does use chemicals but keeps windows open. I go visiting so I'm not in the house whilst there is a strong smell of chemicals. It works for me
I use e-cloths and hot water with soap. Sometimes vinegar if necessary. I have also let go of having to keep everything perfectly clean. There has been so much written about how constant cleaning doesnt allow the immune system to adapt to dealing with bacteria and becomes less able to deal with it, hence rises in some illnesses. If I find a useful link, I'll post it.
The thing which irritates me (both my mind and my lungs) is restaurant waiters who clean tables by spraying chemical cleaners onto them. If it happens near us, we always ask them to spray the liquid into their cloth first so the spray doesnt go into the air and get breathed in by customers - and by themselves as it's dangerous for their lungs. Usually they receive this well though occasionally they get arsey. But it's a basic health and safety thing that they would be taught if they were to do a catering and hygiene course.
Remember the JML ads for ‘Magic Sponge’ it’s a sponge you just add water to ( no chemicals) and it will clean most things including glass, ovens and microwaves. I buy mine from Poundstretcher, cost £1-£2, if you cut them into small pieces they last for ages.
This crept up on me too - can't tolerate scents and chemicals now. I'm using white vinegar, bicarb and a steam cleaner or very hot water. And I know I'm better wearing a mask for any kind of dusty cleaning.
I am having a difficult time trying to figure out what cleaning products I should use , there are so many different products, I think I will just experiment on my own using , baking soda, vinegar and lemon. I cannot afford all this other products like Borax, citric acid etc. Will let you know how I make out!!
ps. could not find any non chemicals at the stores I go to. I live in Canada , any Canadians have any help for me?
