Good morning all, have to tell you about my fantastic news. In two weeks time I am getting my first Brand New Electric Wheelchair, up to now I've had five different reconditioned chairs, all came with there own problems, but very grateful to have them through Social Services. Had a visit and she told me I'm getting a brand new one, I really can't believe my luck, it's like winning the Lottery to me. So this means i will be driving to the hospital in style from now on πI never thought this would happen to me, I will keep my speed down lol. π€

Yes I'm doing my best with some positive thinking to kick this anxiety to the kerb. COPD has been bad but no hospital admissions for almost 12 months!!
Can't wait to read if you venture out to any exciting places.......my local shops are as exciting as I get!!
I'm glad you are keeping as well as possible Squirrels, I no it's never plain sailing with COPD but glad you managed to stay out of hospital that's good. I get days when my breathing is worse than other days but it goes with the territory I suppose. Yes I will be showing off my mean machine and when I go to the hospital I don't want bows and curtsies by the hospital staff, oh no I want the same treatment as before , rough and ready, sit down or go ha!ha!βοΈπ€
My little tri bike, has two speeds on the control panel. A picture if a Tortoise, and a Rabbit. Good luck hun. Freedom to move with out gasping for Breathe. Xxx
Hi Hacienda, once I get my practice done I'le come round with my tow rope, ha!ha!. Thankyou, I'm looking forward to going out on it, can't wait. I think it will take my mind off of gasping for breath, hopefully. I hope you are keeping well ? Take care of yourself βοΈπ
Wonderful news. Long may you have fun, donβt forget mirror, signal manoeuvre.
Congratulations! There'll be no stopping you now.
Hi ErgendI , Thankyou very much. Oh yes onwards and upwards lol. I hope you are keeping well? βοΈπ
Yes, fine, thanks. Singing more and more, as I start a new choir at our local 'Centre for Independent Living' next week, as well as the church music and the singing for lung health group.
Hello ErgendI, glad your keeping well. Interesting to hear that you sing and starting a new choir, well done. I couldn't sing if my life depended on it lol. Take care and keep up the good work. π
Great to hear your good news! Everything comes to he who waits!! Happy 'motoring'. xx Moy
Thankyou MoyB, I never thought I would be lucky enough to get a brand new chair, I hope all is well with you? π€
Sounds like the new chair is long overdue. Enjoy it! I'm doing well chestwise - just the vertigo that stops me doing things. Still, being able to say my chest is ok is a bonus! All the best. xx Moy
Thankyou MoyB, oh yes I will enjoy my chair. I'm glad your chest is good, it's always a worry when we get those dreaded breathing problemsπisn't it. I don't know much about Vertigo Moy, isn't it do with balance? π take care of yourself
You're right, Stumpy55, vertigo is to do with balance. I don't have it all the time but it comes on with no obvious trigger, so I never know when I'm going to get caught out. My balance may be slightly off sometimes and other times it'll be so bad I'll be unable to walk. My husband is very patient and accompanies me most places. I can't drive because it would be too dangerous so he is my chauffeur as well! Bless him. xx
Living with vertigo must be very hard for you MoyB, I didn't realise how serious it is. We have a friend who has it and when I've asked him about it, he just shrugs his shoulders and say's "oh I just get a wobble now and again that's all" so we were none the wiser. But now I know different I'le keep a closer eye on him. Sounds like you have a good husband looking after you , I'me glad we are both lucky there Moy. You take care of yourself and please stay Intouch? πΉ
Maybe your friend is being stoic or perhaps he's fortunate to only get very mild occasional attacks. It affects everyone differently. At its worst a person loses their balance completely and is very dizzy, causing vomiting and even diarrhoea. I have needed the paramedics a couple of times as the vomiting was so severe I passed out and ended up being taken to hospital by ambulance once. It's not a nice thing to have but in between attacks I feel fine. It's ok when they don't come close together but the other week I had six in as many days so I'm still getting my confidence back after that. I've had Menieres Disease since 1996 and used to get the vertigo in the early days but it burned itself out (as it can do) and I had fifteen years vertigo free. I was a bit gutted when it came back! I'm just hoping it goes away again - soon!!
I hope your friend goes on alright and has a good partner to help him like we both have. Nice talking to you. xx Moy
My goodness that's really bad Moy, I had no idea, it's like they say ignorance is bliss. I haven't heard of Menieres Disease either. It must be awful for you especially if you are out and you say it went away for fifteen years and then came back, I bet that was complete shock. You seem a very strong minded person and you just get on with it,. Yes our friend as far as we know copes alright but we will keep a closer eye on him now. His wife has early Dementia which is really sad, they visited last weekend and she was talking about her grandson but couldn't think of his name, she has often repeated herself because she forgets she's already told you. It breaks my heart bless her, life can be so cruel. I wish you well Moy, and please stay Intouch? πΉπ
Great news - can see you'll enjoy every minute x
I've got a heavy cold but could be worse thanks Stumpy xx
Good for you Stumpy ! Will you give it a name ? Enjoy ! Sheila xx
well done xxx
