Nearly a month now since diagnosis with COPD and still feel stressed. X Ray clear but Spirometry test gave result of COPD. Yesterday and today I feel a burning between shoulder blades and ache at bottom of rib cage area of back. Also suffer from heartburn because of a hiatus hernia. No sign of infected sputum or coughing or cold although others in house have a head cold. Could aches be stress related or lung related or GERD related - any advice welcome. Lungs constantly on my mind!!!!

Back ache?
Hello Shazza. I am getting the ache at the bottom of my rib cage at the back. It’s not all the time. I had an x-ray and was told it was clear. As I had an appointment with consultant on 18th April I decided to leave it and ask him. I have now got a letter telling me it has been postponed until 29th August. I find if I stand up it tends to go away. I think it Niobe the way I sit. Am trying to sit up straight. Old habits and all that. 👍🤓
Thanks Roysieboy, could be something to do with posture as sit at computer a lot. My gosh an extra 4 months to wait till your appointment, seems like a long time to postpone. My back pain is across the bottom of rib area at back but sometimes seems like it is in the middle. If still there on Monday will make appointment with doctor as is a constant and getting me down a bit.
It maybe posture as I do not sit for that long apart from the evening watching television, but mine is spasmodic. 4 months is a long time but what do you do, this is the way the NHS is now, I know it’s not right but there you are. I think you are doing the right thing should it carry on, let’s hope you get an answer. This is the sort of thing this website is of great help for. I will be very interested in the diagnosis. Good luck. My thoughts are with you👍🤓
