Hello folks, well wasn't expecting that, just home to my lovely home near famous Giants Causeway, was at hospital in Belfast for long awaited appointment with Professor who specialises in lung conditions (I have asthma, copd ,bronchitis ,plural plax and emphysema) I've never ever ,smoked ,was there re' shadow on left lung, that is getting bigger, good news is it wasn't "that" but got a real shocker from Professor when she told me that the three sets of tests id had showed latent TB (non contagious) she is arranging eyesight and hearing tests for me to form a baseline as medication will affect these to some degree, totally blessed to be getting so well looked after but a bit of a shock, thing is I'm actually feeling relatively well at the moment so upwards and onwards, regards to all,Ger

Glad your home in that lovely part of Northern Island, sorry have such wide range of health conditions, note that never smoked. Yes I’ve never smoked because of condition I was born with, PCD. Good that professor is giving you lot of attention, hope continues and helps. Good luck. x

Wow that must have been a real shock to you Ger, but at least you are being well looked after and getting the treatment you need. Its a long course of antibiotics so make sure you look after yourself x

Gosh -you do have a lot going on. Your prof sounds an excellent lady; wish there were more like her. Hope she'll soon have you as comfortable as possible. I never got to the Giant's Causeway when I was in NI - sad- but saw plenty of other lovely places, some of them from under an umbrella.😊😊

Thanks very much, I'll be grand and think it was Dr Samuel Johnson who said of the Giants Causeway "worth seeing but not worth going to see" don't know about that, "you can be the juiciest most succulent peach in the bowl but there will always be someone who doesn't like peaches " you may have gathered by now I love quotations 😅

That is such a lot but your positivity will carry you through. You have a lovely part of the world to live in as you recover. My very best wishes, Grace

Wow! Bit of a shock! I read a book by Betty Macdonald, 'The plague and I ' about her experience with TB. It's actually humorous but it was written in the 40s so treatment is very different now, fortunately! Hope you recover very soon.

It's interesting from a historical point of view too. The old sanatoriums with rest and fresh air being the main 'cures'.
