Just read an article regarding pulmonary issues in MENA region. It makes for frightening possibilities for the future.
The report stated that there are roughly 14 million diagnosed with lung problems in the region but that the total affected could be 60 million. if this is the case then the medical resources will be really stretched and many of the countries just will not be able to cope.
It will not be so bad for the expats amongst these but for the general populace they will really suffer unless massive amounts of money is made available to the various countries medical services.

One of the main issues here is the prevalence of smoking and the constant pollution from dust. Not a good mix for the lungs. Hopefully the governments of the countries will pump some money into the systems here. I know that the Crown Prince Of Saud Arabia is making massive changes so hopefully other govs. will do the same.
