Dear coral12 I hope and pray your appointment goes well today. Seeing a consultant is a positive thing as you are being treated by a specialist who will have the know to sort you out.

I am due back to see mine next month for the results of breathing tests.

Tell us all how it goes. We are there for you.

Hello coral12 .

I have Obstructive Bronchiolitis. First, Hidden is right. Stay away from reading Google. I was diagnosed almost four years ago but I am still here and so is Kate Katinka46 . It really takes lots of tests, consulting and more tests to diagnose this disease. It's not easily diagnosed. So, please go for the tests and take it day by day. I totally understand your feeling. But right now, you don't know for sure, and neither does your consultant. I would also encourage a second and third opinion. I saw three specialists who made the same diagnosis, so I knew for sure.

Please keep us updated and if you need to ask me anything you are more than welcome to send me a message. 😊

I know it's scary. But you aren't alone. You have us , we will try and support you as much as we can.

*Hugs*

Hello coral12 .

I would say the inhaler would certainly help improve the test result. There are also many situations that can influence the results, even posture. I am told not to use my inhaler before testing as they want an accurate result. So, yes inhalers may enhance your results. I'm sorry I cannot say if your reading indicates BO or not. I would be speculating and I don't want to do that. There will be or should be many tests that need to be conducted to reach a diagnosis, possible also a lung biopsy.

I sense your panic. Please try to stay calm. Nothing is in black and white yet. Also, stress does not help.

Take every day as it comes. The important thing now is to take good care of yourself.

Warm wishes.

Hi coral12 Thank you for posting what happened and it sounds like you had a thorough work up. Did the consultant be says why he was taking blood? I had a blood test ordered by my consultant it was for allergies I.e testing my Ige levels. I was tested for animals, pollen and house dust mites. Result came back in 2 wks. I found out the results via my GPs and tested as very allergic to house dust mites.

As for the breathing test had the one I think you are going to have in a cubicle. This looks at your lungs and if there is any inflammation or obstruction. Not hard to do the respiratory nurse talk me through it. If you want it properly explain ring asthma UK helpline 0300 222 5800 open from 9- 5 Monday to Friday.

I get my results in 3 wks when I see my consultant. I am hoping and praying that he will be able to sort me out so I can get back to GP care.

I realise your asthma is much more complicated than mine. Mine has just got much worse recently and I was advised by A&E doctor last November after my second visit in 2 days for treatment after an asthma attack while still being on prednisolone from an attack 12 days before that I needed more help than GP care. I was able to ask for referral to the respiratory hot clinic the next at my surgery. But that's another story and I just filling some details of mine so you know I had some experience of what you are going through.

Take heart I believe you will get sorted and know I am there for you.

Its only been that high last few days .before that its been between 150 _250

Hi Coral. I think Katinka46 & Caspiana know about that lung condition, I expect they’ll be along later. I think it was unhelpful of the consultant to float a diagnosis without having done all the tests, you’re bound to worry! You might not even have OB. Stay off the internet Coral, it’s full of scary stuff. Maybe you could give the helpline a call today and chat it through with them? The people there are very knowledgeable and kind. It’s 03000 030 555
