A “Touch” of emphysema

Went to the doctors with an unrelated problem. Had an x ray and was told I had a touch of emphysema. I’m 70 and feel fine and I haven’t had a cigarette in over 12 years, he said I’ve probably had it all this time but it just never got worse and stayed very mild! What’s peoples thoughts on this?

Hi

You must be doing the right thing to remain Mild, continue as before. Have you a follow on check up.

If you gave up smoking at the very mild stage it would explain why you are not showing any symptoms. Keep on doing whatever has kept you so well. :)

I wasn’t upset I was just a bit taken a back. But I’m 70 and feel fine so I don’t see a problem especially as I would’ve probably went another 12 years not realising I have it :)
