Breathing difficulties

I have been a lifelong smoker. I am trying to quit.

Recently I have developed extremely sticky saliva and mucus. I also have sticky foul tasting post nasal drip.

Any ideas? Maybe an allergy to cigaretsmoke? Can an allergy just show up after all these years? Many thanks

i think you should have a word with your GP, who could prescribe a med. for the sticky mucus. Just possible that you might have an infection. As for the smoking, DONT. There is so much help out there to quit smoking. I have heard of practice nurses who could advise you.

Foul tasting post nasal drip I would think infection....also thickening of saliva and other mucous areas is also related to infection. I’d call my doctor...
