Copd and afib

I was interested in learning how many people with emphysema also have atrial fibrillation. I have read that there is a connection between these two conditions. Could you tell me if you have both.

Hi. I have had emphysema for approx 20 years and now at end stage,I developed afib about 7 years ago and had an ablation, I also had 2 angiograms which showed that I had narrowing of the arteries. I then had 3 stents inserted. Everything went well for a year and then the afib returned. I had a second ablation which caused a tamponade ( chest cavity filling with blood ). This was drained and i was sent home. Again all went well for a year and the afib returned again. I went back in for a third ablation in oct 2014 and again had a tamponade, but the afib has been ok now for over three years. Although i had a couple of bad experiences i would recommend asking about a cardiac ablation. Let me know if you require any more information Ray
