i used to take real bad coughing fits where i used to fall to my knees out of breath , face bright red and sweat lashing off me, sometimes i had to go to casualty and have oxygen to get my levels back to normal..i haven't really had an episode since 2011 when i had swine flue, real bad and was hospitalized and treated..thing is i was sitting the other day and tried my friends blood ox meter on my finger and it read 93 and dropped to 87, never sat still was always moving between these points. its got me a little worried as he has emphysema and had a quadruple lobe operation and his was better than mine. should i be worried? im 50 year old and male

previous rips to find out what caused the coughing fits where fruitless , alll i knew was strong smells took my breath away and started me to cough. any strong smell, perfume, deodorant , paint child's dirty nappy anything.. this has got better though

87 is just within the normal O2 levels. Perhaps you could ring the BLF free helpline and have a chat to one of the qualified nurses there. blf.org.uk/support-for-you/...
