I have been having very distressing bouts of not been able to breath and swallow .I have seen a consultant who diagnosed chronic rhino sinus and gave me more steroid spray and told me to irrigate my nasal passages frequently .I have done this with no improvement of my condition. I had my suspicions it may be the Statins at fault so I have stopped them and my condition has improved 80% this is after only 3 days so there must be a link .I will monitor this for another week to see how I improve.

Statins
If you are on meds inhalers ect they can cause congestion x
I am improving all the time now I have stopped the statins so I think I must have some allergy to them only time will tell ,I have never suffered from this with my sinuses until I started with the statins.
There are different kinds of statins, tell your doc you've stopped so that you can try something else to help avoid stroke/heart attack. P
My husband tried every kind of statin and had all those problems you have described, he also had dry eyes, lethargy, depression, and aches and pains everywhere. He no longer takes them and almost as soon as he stopped he returned to the lovely man I married and no longer a grumpy bear. Even the GP who had tried everything agreed that he should stop. I hope you continue to improve, don't believe those who say statins have no side effects. Even the medical profession have realised there is a problem. Hope you feel better soon xx
I used to suffer muscle pains caused by statins even in my heart and decided to leave them at home when we went on a 5 day break and I too found my symptoms had vanished when I got back. I was put on Ezetrol 10 mg and was told my cholesterol count is now just over 3.
Are you on steroids? I only ask because as a constant user of steroids I am unable to take statins of any sort as the combination reacts very adversely.
Yes I have been on Steroids But now I am using Avamys Spray my doctor says this has a steroid ingredient?
Well done Cassgard. Yet another nasty side effect from Statins which are scandalously over prescribed.
