Copd/ emphysema/ giant bullae

Hi all, I haven't been on here for a long time. Have been turned down for pip, only gained standard rate, however have last week been given oxygen 4ltr pm. Does anyone know if I should get the larger rate now on oxygen.

Hi there 13lavinia. The rate of benefit paid under PIP does not have much to do with using/not using oxygen. Nor is it dependent on your health condition or which stage you are at. It solely depends on how the condition affects your ability to live a normal life, cook a meal, dress and bathe yourself, etc.

When it comes to the DWP it's always best to keep them informed of any changes in your circumstances etc and from that, they in their unique wisdom,work out if you should need extra financial help etc. If in doubt go onto gov.UK website and it's all explained!
