Hi Pat - best thing you can do is to get your GP to refer you to pulmonary rehabilitation. This is a course of exercise for people with lung disease and education about managing your condition. It's evidence-based to improve our functioning and it's nice to meet others with the same struggles.
Hello and welcome Pat.
Thank you one and all for your help
Hi Pat, I have COPD too in my right lung. I had part of my left lung removed because of lung cancer. Have you asked your doctor about Oxygen? I use that along with inhalers and I like for it to be cool in my house. Seems like I breathe better. One thing in case you didn't know, is always rinse your mouth or I at least drink something after using an inhaler. It helps to rinse out the steroids from the spray. One other thing that I have learned is the way we breathe. They teach you to breath air in through your nose and blow it out slowly with your mouth.(sometimes called pursed lips) I learned that with "Smell the flowers and blow out the candle." It is good breathing exercise and I would practice it some and especially if you get oxygen. (not too many at at time---don't want you to hyperventilate) I'm not a doctor but I wanted to share this with you as a COPD patient too.
Hi....I will ask about that..I'm starting some sessions at a pulmonary rehabilitation service group..next month..so hoping to get more help and advice...thanks for your help...
