Hello everyone. Iam not a regular contributor although read the daily posts. Back in April a CT Scan showed nodules in my right lung. It's been a long wait and a few tests later but today it was not only confirmed that I did not have Lung Cancer but the nodules had disappeared! Consultant says they were probably pockets of inflammation resulting from uncontrolled Asthma, which took nearly two years to diagnose.
Currently my Asthma is controlled although the cause of my Breathlessness still remains a mystery and I have to have yet another referral to a different specialist but the joy of knowing I don't have LC at the moment has me on a high. Thank you to everyone who responded to my past posts you are all wonderful people.😁😘

In the same boat here, so I know exactly what you have been going through, saying it's not nice is a very polite understatement. Excellent news I am pleased for you
It may help ease anxiety if it was explained that improvements in CT technology means more nodules than ever are detected. They are detected in 40%+ in non smokers and over 50% of smokers/ex smokers show nodules. Of those an increasingly smaller % turn out to be growing and not all growing ones turn out to be malignant.
So much so, that NICE are considering whether to continue with the re-scan process given the risk from repeated radiation exposure vs the low % incidence of treatable malignancy. Or if you're a tad cynical, cost.
I quite agree with you, if that info was given along with the finding it may stop people like me spending weeks worrying perhaps unnecessarily as in my case.
