Poor dad, poor you. So miserable for you both. Have they done x rays? That would show a blood clot I should think. On blood thinners just in case f a clot? We have to trust t their judgement but it is hard to watch a dear one in trouble.Keep asking questions. Best wishes Iris x

Hello Magsjamie, sounds a common occurance a freind of mine was just treated for blood clot then told it is not one. It seems for us older people its quite alright to treat just incase then say it was not. But like you I fear that doctors are not as clued up as we would expect them to be, and I beleive the objective of a doctor is to correctly diagnose and treat a patient, not test to tell us what we don't have. Also in this pill pushing age some problems are merely due to side effects of drugs, which many medics seem to ignore in my opinion. All I can say is your dad is in a safe place and fingers crossed they sort out his problems soon and he can come home with your mind at rest. Take care X

last week my niece was on holiday in portugal and started suffering with bad pains in her leg, her friends made her go 2 hospital where she was given an injection and put on a drip they discharged her later that day a few hours later she died, we have just received her death certificate saying she had a blood clot that travelled 2 her heart causing a massive heart attact she was only 55

That is so sad to happen to a young woman. I hope you`re getting over the shock that it must have been. Take care, Sheila x

Sounds similar to my husband. Its so frustrating. They discharged him and said he was given a walking assessment so I asked who had done that because he cant walk the length of his bed. They then said they must have mixed him up with another patient but still discharged him anyway.

Hello magsjamie . I am so sorry your dad is poorly and in hospital. How very frustrating for you. And you must be extremely worried. It seems to be taking so long to get any answers. I know my comment won't help much but please know I am thinking of you both. Please make sure you get enough rest. Take care.
