Hi I'm new here, I have prostate cancer & now have been told I have COPD I'm 69 yr old on my own & a normal state pension! can I claim for any benefits ?

Hello and welcome to the forum. Why not call the BLF helpline where they have a benefits advisor with up to date knowledge of the benefits available? The helpline is staffed Mon-Fri from 9am to 5 pm. 03000 030 555

Hi it's not what illness you have but how it affects you. Have a look at the Govt.UK site which has loads of info on it.

Hello Brunt3, welcome to the site. There are several benefits you may be entitled to besides basic pension. Sorry to hear of your health problems but glad you have joined the forum. Try the advice line as suggested they are very helpful. Your local Age UK can help too plus citizens advice. Hope to speak to you again soon.
