I've been on carbocisteine for a while now at the same dose as your hubby. It may take a couple of days before you notice the mucus loosening ? I also have a nebuliser which I use when I'm struggling a bit

Hope it brings some relief to him ?

Take Care and stay strong

I have been on that dose for nearly four years and hardly have any trouble with mucus these days

I have 2 twice a day but it makes no difference. Also nebulise, and use a salt pipe.

Have taken for a few years .....only take one or sometimes two capsules In the morning .

Depends how my chest feels and if I have had an infection ....will only take full dose as and when my chest gets really bad

Although I would not be without it.
