Sleeping with oxygen

I am really struggling to sleep with the oxygen canula tubing up my nose allnight. It comes of quite a few times in the night. As anyone tried sleeping with the mask they also give you, if so please let me know how you got on. Mike

I find them both annoying only thing u can do is tape the cannula on to your cheeks x

There are different makes and models of cannula so please ask about trying some alternatives.

Hi Mike, I believe that if you ask when you`re putting your oxygen order in, they will provide little stickers to hold the cannula on your face overnight. They`ll also provide little rubber sleeves to put on the cannula part over the ears to stop them getting sore. During the day when I`m on my 16hrs I put my cannula on so that I can tighten it up on the back of my head just to give my poor ears a rest ! Sheila x

I flip a long length of tubing across the bed, so that when I move, the tubing stays at the same level as me. It also provides another toy for the kitten... I pull the sleeve on the cannula quite tight too, but more importantly, I get cannulae with long nose pieces. Now tell me how to stop my nose from bleeding...

Cheers

I wear a mask 24 / 7 and the only problem I have experienced has been with air leaking into my eye. Basically because of my big Roman nose.

I cannot wear a cannula based device because of nasal polyps. Just have a word with your prescribing nurse or doctor & describe your issues. I am sure that they will change your nightwear delivery device.
