ABPA advice needed

I have ABPA diagnosed over a year, I have been told by my consultant to get off prednisone, I am reducing by 1 mg each month. I started at 30 mg a day but I am down to 3 mg but I am feeling the affects of coughing and wheezing, should I carry on and if so will I damage my lungs further, any help would be great.

ABPA is short for Allergic Bronchiectasis Pulmonary Aspergillosis, a condition that is caused by inhaling a spore from the mold of aspergillosis which causes extreme coughing fits which in turn causes permanent damage to lungs. There is no cure for the condition only management.
