So many people here have chest infections. I have pah and don't get any. Are the infections related to copd and mucous or am I just lucky?

Infections
Hi
Infections are more likely with a lung condition that overproduces mucus. They can also be more bacterial rather than viral.
At some point nearly everyone as a chest infection, you don't need a chronic illness. a number of people get chest infections whilst others do not. Even if they are at the same stage and have the same condition. If we could work out why there would be a lot of very happy people. I not produced mucus nor had a cough for a month now. My GP does not know. I can only conclude that we are all different.
What Stone says is right, as always, but there have been so many horrid bugs going around since before Christmas that you must be truly blessed not to have succumbed to something.

Pulmonary vascular disease is, I think, less likely to cause chest infections as the problem is in the blood vessels rather than the airways. In the seven years since my complex lung stuff started I have only had one chest infection and something that probably was one just before last Christmas.
