I have been going downhill for approx 2 years. I am a 53 yr old female who was privately diagnosed with and getting treated for ADHD 1 year ago - the NHS won't accept this. I recently saw Consultant in A & E after numerous trips to Dr - chest X-Ray not great COPD and all blood tests back normal so diagnosis is likely to be ME. I am now looking at possibility of Sarcoidosis- cough, breathless, fast heart rate, constantly congested, can't climb hills, difficult to climb stairs, muscle weakness, chronic fatigue, sweating, headaches, eye irritation, skin lesion on back which was thought to be Lymes Disease, no energy etc etc.. I feel as if I have aged 30 yrs but frightened to suggest Sarcs to NHS GP after the fight regarding ADHD which they will not accept. Any advice please.

You Need a spirometry test and CT scan of your chest. X-ray is not very good at diagnosing copd. Your symptoms could be a number of things some related to respiratory medicine other could be cardiac in nature. Who suggested Sarcoidosis? As there are plenty of other things to be eliminated first. Diagnosis over the net is almost impossable and the best person to investigate your y symptoms is your GP who will refer you to the relevant consultant depending on his findings.

Hi I am so tired of feeling unwell and trying to get on with life that I am trying to get as much info as possible and looking at my symptoms and the tests that have been done - I had a heart scan but no spirometers test or ct of chest - I hate going back and fore to Dr as I feel like a hypochondriac - numerous blood tests done NAD - I just wondered myself about SARCS no one suggested it but I know someone who has it and similar symptoms. Every time I visit GP it is a different Dr I see and all have different opinions.

A number of condition all carry the same symptoms at first. Sadly googling them can only add to the confusion. GPs come to an opinion by a process of elimination of what it could be based on their medical training. Unfortunately this process can be long winded and frustrating, however it's the only way you are going to get an answer to your health problems. Let us know how you get on.

Hi badbessie, but I know what ADHD is, so My comment was no help whatsoever, I will read things better from now on . Xx

Hi, I think I may also have adult ADHD. I have 10 grandchildren who all have diagnoses of Autism/ASD, so I can sympathise on that one and no they don't like it.

You have to separate stuff out, I have been involved in the MS community at a high level for many years and have a few folk diagnosed with ME. It is not a kind illness.

I was once given some really good advice: Do not waste your time on worrying about stuff you cannot influence. List the stuff you can fight. Do what you can and then strike it off the list and move on to the next item. It took me many years to perfect this - but now I have it down to a tee - hope it helps you.

Thank you for you're advice it makes a lot of sense I will need to work on it but at least it is one more thing I can do instead of looking at all the things I can't do.
