Have you done a pulmonary rehabilitation course Doug? They are a combination of exercise and education for people with lung disease, usually most people have copd. PR is evidence based to improve your functioning - you start from where you are and build up from there. Many here have done the course and benefited hugely. You can ask your GP if there is a course in your area and ask for a referral. You could also get further advice from the BLF helpline 03000 030 555 office hours - their nurses are brilliant.

Funnily enough I spoke to my nurse about this a couple of weeks ago. she said the winters (for me) are the worst time so shorter winters are better for me but more to the point somewhere where the air is clearer would be even better. Think about height from sea level as the air gets thinner but it's all a balance really. I'd advise you to speak to your nurse or gp.

Take care xx

Hi Doug41, I been wondering the same thing as winter holidays in the sun always make me feel better and spending time in over-heated places where germs can thrive cannot be good. You could always get one of those cotton face protectors that motor bike riders wear to protect your nose and mouth when out - where do you think you might go?
