10 weeks fag free, eh? Time to grab all that cash you saved, get out there and treat yourself! I always found that an occasional treat (okay most weeks actually) was a great incentive to "stay-stopped". Well done, you!!

Well done, it's a great feeling to beat the addiction. I tried a few times before without success then came diagnosis and the fright, I did cold turkey and been free of it for 11 months :)

well done! I don't have COPD but i know someone who does; i have managed to stop but on the vaping now. Its hard giving up though; but i know several people close to me with lung disease, plus one who died re heart disease; all due to smoking; horrific damage smoking does. I wish the government would just ban fags along with alcohol. I guess it makes them too much money though.

in reply tosusieanna

I'm vaping when I remember to charge it lol can't really be bothered with it but well done on you choosing not to xxx

I will never be a member of the "Ban Brigade", people are entitled to choose how they live their lives - if they smoke it's their lungs, if they drink it's their liver, and if they gamble it's their money. I wish they would not do these things but taking away free will is a very dangerous path to even think of treading. Education not legislation. And, as you say, they pay billions into the exchequer which funds us abstainers.

I'm not actually in the 'ban brigade' really. I know that couldn't happen. I just hate the total destruction these poisons do . Especially the latter. I have a lot of experience of both . Considering the amount of money people pay in taxes on fags and booze I think support and treatments should be far better. I agree re Education. Kids should be taught at infants school.

Why would you want to give up your vape chrisb4 - it harms no-one, and I find it very calming.

Don't want to give it up really, just not sure if it's doing my copd any good. Still feel loads better than when I was smoking though.

Thats great if you cant be bothered re vaping! Its murder when it runs out; then the thing is, you still feel like smoking! However, it has to be far, far better than smoking and taking in the toxins. Rome wasn't built in a day. Well done everyone!

Well done. I know its very hard. Ten weeks is a huge achievement, I think the experts would say that you have got it sorted. I am with Y-Not on the treat front. Cinema tickets? Pinot Grigiot? Chocolate if you must. A meal out with your bestest mate?

Very well done. I was diagnosed 12 years ago and gave up very shortly afterwards. I have enjoyed life so much more and cannot understand why i ever smoked, wanted to smoke and how difficult it was to stop. The benefits of not smoking are so great!!
