Hi
On looking through several types of flask, they weigh 2.5/3.9 kg . On 4lpm they last 4/8 hours. At which time you have to be back at base for refill.
The Imogen G2 as supplied by the NHS I believe only comes with one 12 cell battery, the other is 24 cell.
Weights is approx 3.5kg and last for 4 hours on 4lpm. Can be charged in car or any suitable mains outlet, you would have carry charge with you.
Comes with carry bag and trolley.
I think they are more or less equal depending on what you daily task are.
The liquid is inconvenient in that you have to back at base to refill.
The portable is inconvenient if you don't have a car to keep it topped up.
The liquid is less cumbersome than the portable.
Thank you stone. My daughter (grown up) is on 2 litres and has fluid oxygen. This weighs 7 kilo when full ! And as you say you have to be near an oxygen station every 6 hours. We live in switzerland and would have to buy tge condensator which is expensive but i think worth it to give her the freedom. Freedom of just visiting friends or family, holidays and longer car rides.
Take care
Hi
If you need to purchase your own, and your daughter is on 2lpm pulse.
Then the lightest unit available is the AirSep focus.
healthoxygen.com/airsep-foc...
It comes with two batteries which last one hour thirty minutes each, extras can be purchased. Fantastic unit fits on belt around waist.
Just make sure with your respitory nurse that it suitable.
The next would be the Imogen G3 this goes upto 5lpm. Only weighs 2.2 kg .it would also be future proof if your daughters needs increase.
I used both as I went from 2lpm to 4 lpm.
Not sure of suppliers or pricing in Switzerland 🇨🇭
dude the best place to be is both if you have 2 canula one on each and taped at nose if you get onto big numbers like i was 13 lts an minin the end before tplant but on 6 and 7 ltrs i had flask on 2 lts and consentrater on 4 pluged into car so i cld go out all day and have 8 hrs oxygen take 2 flasks i cld lead a norm ish life
If you need oxygen at night make sure the portable oxygen condenser gives continuous oxygen for nighttime as well as pulsed (on demand) oxygen for daytime. Some of them do not give continuous oxygen. Also check the maximum litres per hour that they give.
Thank you sarcoid for the tip. I was thinking she could stay on the fluid oxygen at night.
Sibkev... so happy you could have the transplant done
