New here. Was trying to find out why I might be having trouble catching my breath after doing hardly nothing. Already been to Doctor. Heart and lungs are fine.

Breathing Problems
Hi Selm2016, sadly, it's not uncommon for GP's to miss the obvious and not think to check for COPD. A cheap, simple test but maybe that's the issue. Have they done any proper lung function tests yet?
Whatever the outcome I wish you all the best.
Hi Selm2016 "Welcome" to the forum. I hope you make some new friends and find support if needed.
If you are still short of breath after being examined by your Doctor then something is still amiss. Go back to your GP before your condition worsens and get checked out properly.
Take care.
John
There are several things it could be, even asthma. I would go back to GP if still concerned. What test did you have to determine your lungs were OK would be my first question, as sometimes a scan can reveal a total different story in cases of COPD. Take care.
I was active and capable of walking up Ben Nevis, around the rock of Gibraltar and up one side and down the other. Within 18 months I was incapable of doing my job (mechanical engineering) shuffling along as long as it was level. Out of breath for no reason, during their investigations they found that one of my problems was central sleep apnoea. Apparently my brain doesn't keep telling me to breathe so the brain doesn't get enough oxygen. They think that this was a result from a couple of strokes (which I got over) and an episode of encephalitus that they missed. I now have an air concentrator delivering 3lt pmin for 10 hours overnight. It has helped this particular part of my problems, if I go without for a couple of days I go back to being pretty useless really. Could even be that if your lungs etc are ok, its a brain problem not sending 'signals' to the lungs as opposed to the copd type.
