Has anyone use one of these to measure at home? I have a constant cough with chest pain and frequent tachycardia. 32 year old male smoker. Stopped now.

I use one of these at home and find it is accurate when measured against the hospital spirometer. But looking back I believe I have used it 6 times in the last 10 years so I could have saved myself some money.

Hi

Smartphone users can purchase.

smartspirometry.com

It's as accurate as the one I recently used at my annual check up.

Connects to any phone with audio jack plug, app is downloaded from Apple Store, or google play.

Thanks Stone. How often do you use it and how often do you replace the turbine? I e-mailed them to ask as I saw it uses a disposable turbine, and they said if it was only one person using it you could probably reuse it about 10 times.

Hi

Only used a few times, as it's single use you can wipe the turbine with a bacteria wipe. Don't over wet as is only cardboard.

I purchased a box of ten turbines at same time.

I have this one and am reasonably happy with it. It seems pretty accurate and very easy to use. Does not give you FVC but does give you PEF and FEV1.
