Hi Mooskie, I don't have COPD but I think with any long term illness, low haemoglobin can happen as part of being generally under par. Has your doctor suggested iron supplements or changes in diet ? If you've found out your levels are low from a blood test, then whoever referred you for the test should be advising you. I hope you manage to sort out the problem.
i actually requested the blood test because i am feeling so tired.
the doc is referring me to a urologist because i also have blood in my urine. not visible to the human eye. because i have very severe copd i am wondering if there is a connection. my thanks for your interest.
Hi mooskie, I have blood in my urine too, I was referred to a urologist and had scans, X-ray, ct scan and camera in my bladder and no reason for the blood can be found.
But naughtily I did Google and it may be a side effect of one of my medications.
I am slightly anaemic too and now have some iron tablets ....more blood tests soon to check. I feel much better now except for a blasted cold that I was given.
Best wishes.
hi knitter...thanks for your response. yes, i am going to under take all of those tests😩 i don't think they will find anything wrong . i expect it may have a
connection to my blood oxygen levels...would seem to me that in order to have red blood cells which provide oxygen to organs, and i am not making, enough oxygen it could have-ripple effect??? doctor mooskie
