I gave up over 10 years ago did really well my level stayed the same for 3 years then I got the flu and your lungs never fully recover and over the years and several more chest infections has left my breathing much worse than when I was first diagnosed this is why it is important we keep away from people who have flu.
I am the same with all the chest infections over the years it has affected by breathing
Hi, you might need a medication review?
A few other things could contribute to a decline in your breathing as well as the cold.....lack of exercise, weight gain, pollution where you live. I had to move away from my beloved London for health reasons and my health has improved. I do always wear a Buff over my nose & mouth when going out in the bitterly cold and/or damp weather.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation course might help. Good luck, P
Yes I understand that peege. I wasn't glad at the time, but I am now that I moved away from London 20 years ago. I do miss it though sometimes. I am sure living by the seaside is keeping me healthier. x
Take plenty of vitamin D . . .
Hi Stilltruckin
Glad to see you are active again!
When I take Vitamin D, the calcium in my blood increases to an unacceptable level. Any suggestions apart from not taking it?

Quote: . . . . . In summary, for those people supplementing with vitamin D3 and wanting to avoid the resulting hypercalcemia (prolonged hypercalcemia is harmful) - make sure to take sufficient vitamin A. A good rule of thumb is a ratio of 1:5 for Vitamin D : Vitamin A. Adding vitamin K will ensure the calcium goes to the bone and not the soft tissues. Adding vitamin E to the mix will ensure the vitamin A does not oxidize.'

Really.will that help.
Many thanks Stilltruckin for your reply.
I shall try those and see how I get on.
Why don't you do yourself a favour and throw some coenzyme Q10 into the mix: breathebetterblog.blogspot....
Recommend 100 - 300 mg/day in divided doses - but quite expensive.
That certainly made very interesting reading Stilltruckin.
I never smoked and my Fev1 taken at the beginning of January was 48%, up from 45%.(the machine was either faulty or it was a misprint! I certainly don't feel I have improved) so I could do with a miracle tablet to take.
I shall see how it pans out.
I certainly appreciate the time and effort you have put into this. Many thanks.
