Advice on pets
Hi
Is it the dog? Or could it be air freshener, or some under household product used by your daughter and not you.
I had same at my daughters, turned out to be firstly the Air wick plug in air freshener. The worst one actually put me in ICU. Was the Air Wick automatic air freshener.
Stone is right it could be loads of things it might be worth getting your daughter to bring the dog round to your house that would eliminate the poor dod
As stone says are you sure it is the dog?
I am very sensitive to household etc chemicals, sometimes I am adversely affected & I cannot even smell what is affecting me. Dogs & cats however do not affect me at all & lots of people on this site have pets, so clearly they are not adversely affected either.
I have a son who is allergic to animal fur. Also my son in law he comes out in a rash where ever his skin touches the animal. A lot depends on the sort of fur he ha. Long or short and if the dog needs grooming.

I am the same , i come out in a rash if i touch a dag or cat and they do affect my breathing but im sensitive to a lot of household products like stone said the air fresheners are really bad , i had to stop going to my mums house as she had those air wick spray air fresheners all overthe house . they are a nightmare .
Try an over-the-counter antihistamine see if it will help. It could help with the other possibilities mentioned too.
Bringing the dog to your house is unlikely to rule it out - it's the microscopic skin flakes most people are allergic to (along with urine & saliva); your daughters house will have years of build up no matter how well she vacs. and you're even likely have the problem if the dog wasn't there when you went, too.
Yours will likely have next to nothing even with the dog there all day.
You could ask the GP to refer you for allergy test.. but even then I show no allergies but I know when I have a cold my lungs get hyper sensitive & I get that buzz in the carpeted lounge since we had a dog, but not before. Also the scratch test isn't infallible.. so try the antihistamine for a couple of weeks is the easy first option.
I have a dog and I'm fine maybe it's something else worth looking into.
Thanks to ever one for comments
I've got two long-haired German shepherds that I groom every week and this has never affected my breathing. Think it may be something else that is giving you problems. Good luck in finding out what it is.
