Hello artpats,

So sorry you are feeling rough. Keep warm, drink plenty of water and try to eat a little to build yourself up, and I hope you will soon feel much better.

Hello artpats,

sorry you've got a chest infection. Loads of stuff going around just now and hospitals are best avoided if possible. It must be reassuring to know the district nurse will be checking you every day. Follow Jennifer's advice and I hope you feel better soon.

Oh hello, artchie - I've just realised who you are!!

I hope you're now on the right antibiotics and so on and really will soon be over this infection. No wonder you felt so awful and so breathless. Keep warm. Get better. x

I have just been offered tele health for continual monitoring at home. They are doing this to cut down on hospital admissions. They provide a smart phone and an oximeter and you link up once a day or by arrangement to be watched over. Any change in figures, or looking like you are heading for a problem they phone you to discuss. Is this used elsewhere? I am UK south west.

Which bit of the south west are you in, kernowdame? That's where I am but I've never heard of it. Sounds like a very good idea if you're coping on your own. You've got the support and contact if you have a problem and you stay away from all those hospital mega bugs.

It's nice to meet you, and I hope you feel much better soon. Sue x

This is west Cornwall. A nurse came to the last session of PR classes and asked if anyone wanted to join. I had never heard of it either. As I am caring for hubby who has bladder cancer it means a lot to me to stay well. So I said "yes, please".

No wonder I haven"t heard of it - I'm in Devon. It's such a good idea and will free up hospital beds for people who really have to be there. And, as you say, can make a lot of difference to someone in your situation. Very best wishes to you and your husband, Sue x

I totally agree with watfordgirl ...Hospital is the worse place for us to be when we are ill...My consultant actually said she wanted me out of there before i caught something last time i was admitted..

Make sure someone is helping out at home because we tend to overdo it when we are not in hospital...So no housework !!!
