Welcome AlanR and no don't panic. It must seem a lot to take in as you have other chronic illnesses. We are here to reassure and advise and to bring some much needed cheer to.

Take care and wishing you all the best. Xxxxx

Hi Alan,

It's hard not to get despondent when facing multiple health problems. Some GPs unfortunately seem to be less supportive than others; sorry that you don't feel you get much support from yours.

There is support from others on this site, you aren't on your own as such. I wonder if you live in an area where there is a local breathe easy group where you could meet others with similar problems for more support. The British Lung Foundation site could help you find out. They also produce leaflets giving useful information on living and coping with lung disease if you haven't already been given anything.

Hope some of this is helpful

Carole

You are most welcome. I wish you loads of luck in dealing with your latest health problem, you already had more than enough to contend with.

Let us know how you get on.

Best wishes

Hi Alan, and welcome. I don't really have anything to add, just want to say try not to panic, stay active and find out as much as you can about your condition. It was a very good move to join this site as you will get lots of good advice and information from these lovely people. I've found it invaluable.

Just one thing, any chance of changing your GP, even if it means travelling a bit further?

Take care.

Pam 😊

Thankyou Pam, as for changing my GP i will give her the benefit of the doubt and talk further with her, i think its the specialist who didn't actually tell me i need too speak with. i was only informed through the mail so nobody as actually spoke too me bit of a bugger int it. cheers Alan

Hello Alan, and it's very nice to meet you. It's difficult when you have different things to deal with, but no, definitely don't panic. It won't help your breathing at all.

You're not on your own. All of us have a lung problem of one sort or another so we can offer help and advice. Many are also dealing with other conditions too. We know what it's like, and there's always someone around to have a chat and a virtual cup of tea.

Welcome to the group. I'm so sorry you are having such a rotten time of it & that your GP isn't very helpful. Does your practice have a respiratory nurse? Most do, or the Practice nurse is trained in respiratory problems. They often know almost as much as the GP & often have more time to explain things. I would phone & ask & make an appointment with her. Write down the things you want to know & then you won't forget. People on this site are very knowledgeable & will always do their best to help. Try not to panic, stress certainly makes my breathing worse. Take care Penny xx

Hu Alan and welcome to the site.

Docter's just don't seem to have time to tell us enough about anything these day's but, to be honest, you'll learn far more on here, than they could ever tell you anyway.

The members on here have a vast amount of knowledge between them and the time to help you get the answers/support you need. xx
