Hi Issma 30% FEV1 means your husband is just teetering on the very severe stage. As I am sure you are aware there are many on here with similar and even lower lung functions who are still going strong.
If you are in the UK why not ring the BLF - 03000 030 555. They work office hours. x
Yes it is a horrible disease and affects the whole family. I am a bit of a Sergeant Major and won't let my husband give in! He is also near the very severe stage but we still fly abroad and I try to ensure we live as normal a life as possible, in fact he finished decorating our living room before we flew away, done slowly but surely and I think at the age of 78 that's not too bad. I truly believe that part of the answer is to keep as active as possible, without doing any harm.
I'm sorry to hear this Issma, must be so hard on you worrying about him. Infections are so debilitating and they never seem to recover to where they were before. Take care of yourself too.
