A friend of mine over the pond in the good ol' U.S of A, suffers with aspergilliosis, bronchiectasis and COPD.
She's recently started attending Pulmonary Rehabilitation and they've advised her to start using this little gadget called The Breather, to help with her lung exercises. She swears blind to me that it's helped her no end, more than she ever expected and she was kind enough to get hold of a second one and send it over to me.
It's an interesting little device, but I've only used it for a couple days, not enough to feel the benefits yet that she was telling me she feels. My friend, bless her, is an eternal optimist, and she would see the good in the devil if she met him.
So I was wondering though. I've never seen this over here. Is it something offered by U.K pulmonary rehab classes? Has anyone else used one and felt any benefits from it? Does it really help with exercising the lungs any more than, say, just getting out for a walk?
