Burning in chest and stringy phlegm
Hi, very well done on stopping smoking. It can take a while for the lungs to clear themselves, after all we poison them for years! Infected mucus is normally greenish but does not always appear at the start of an infection. Could the burning in your chest be reflux? I ask because this happens often for people with COPD and I think it is the result of some of the medications offered. If you have worries about the mucus or about the burning sensation in your chest you should consult your GP
Hi I agree with Mrsmummy everyone is different. I myself have never Had burning in my chest.I would see your GP. Just to be on the safe side. Take care
Try ranitidine tablets - antacid - it's available over-the-counter while you wait for your Drs appointment - see if it helps alleviate the burn? Or Gaviscon if you've got it - more expensive though. The honey lemon water is good for sore throat, better hot without the honey for mucous, though IMO.
Best wishes
