New drug ?umelidinium bromide - Lung Conditions C...
New drug ?umelidinium bromide
My brother and I have been on this for quite awhile now we are are not actually sure if it is doing either of us any good but we have not found any side effects with taking it
Hi
I was given this two months ago so still early days - the nurse suggested that the spireva was not working well as in sometimes the capsule breaks and can't be used so it gets thrown away and patients reported having to use another one.
I have had this happen plus sometimes i can't get the capsules out of the packaging - so she suggested i try this new one. To be honest I'm not sure it takes a big breath in which sometimes i don't know if i get enough and other times i think i have tasted the powder - never happened with spireva so I'm not sure!
I'll give it another month to see and then maybe go back on spireva.
Yep! Was changed to this in May after 5 months of COPD exacerbation and diagnosed then with Asthma COPD Overlap Syndrome (ACOS ) Am taking new inhaler Fluticasone furoate (Relvar) as well.
Consultant stopped the inhalers from Seretide and Spiriva which I had been taking for 13 years. Found to be steroid dependent and needed a nebuliser and carbocysteine as well.
Reducing the steroids 1 mg a month, which is helpful. Reducing and hope to stop Nebuliser very soon.
All this seems to be working and the new inhalers appear to be doing what they should be.....hurrah!
Hope the new inhaler works for you.
Polly
Hi
I have been given this since April. I have no problems with it. Certainly no side effects. I have even taken one of the packs apart when I had finished with it and found all the powder had gone so I at last know I'm getting the dose. That's all I can tell you.
Hi ive been on the Acidiniumbromid to replace the Spirava. It does leave powder in your mouth. I also have to take the Symbicort 400 every morning to get a breath. Come tea time its a repeat of morning. Most times I am still struggling even wi theset
I think you mean Tiotropium bromide, otherwise known as Spiriva. My mother has this one and has found it to be of help
Hi Dorris. I think Carol means aclidinium bromide ie Eklira Genuair. Same class as Spiriva (long-acting, muscarinic antagonist or LAMA for short), but different drug.
I'm on Spiriva, like your mother, and have found it to be really good. I'm glad it works for her too.
I am on Bretaris Genuair and find it really good. And my breathing is the best it has been in years. Also Relvar Ellipta. I would recommend both x
Yes this is the one I take in place of the Spirava. I was tld that this will replace the Spirava as it's easier to take.
It's quite a bit cheaper than Spiriva
is anyone on the once on a morning dry powder inhaler called (copied it off the box) ANORO Ellipta ...umeclidinium/vilanterol ???
my breathing is terrible I'm 52 and smoked since I was 15 but have now stopped. I just put up with it but reading some posts maybe my breathing could be better with more or different meds. I have the salbutamol inhaler which I don't think does anything at all and I take carbocisteine.
Anyone any views? ??
goodness me I do apologise...jst realised I've jumped on the back of someone else's post. It's a little late...and warm 😩😩
