Update for ACV.

There is not that much to tell really, not much more than I have posted.

My breathlessness was getting rather bad. On a bad day I would have to have a rest half way through a shower. After my last review, about 2 weeks ago and not having a good couple of days I decided to have a go at some of those "cures" bandied about on the internet. With not much confidence may I add. Some of the claims made certainly do not add up.

1st was to be A.C.V.

2nd was Mullein tea .

3rd was Cannabis oil.

I choose the ACV,known as Aceto di Mele here, because it was readily available and only 80 cents for half a litre. With a jar of honey everything less than 4 euros. On the 12th of July before retiring I put about 2 tablespoons of ACV into a glass with double amount of water and drank it quickly followed by a teaspoon of honey. That honey sure tasted nice!!!!!!!!! If you decide to try it do not put a lot of water with it as it harder to take. I knock it back in 2 mouthfuls now. I clean my teeth as a precaution because of the acidity. I take the ACV each evening before retiring.

I work up next morning and felt like I had won the European Lottery without buying a ticket!! The breathing was as good as it was 10 years ago and it has been like it ever since that morning. The 13th would you believe!!.

When I do jobs now if I have to stop it is because I am out of breath and not out of oxygen.

I can not tell you what a wonderful feeling that is. Today my buttocks, shoulders and upper arms ache because yesterday I was using an axe and using muscles that had done very little in the last few years. Ok,I am 70 but I look quite fit and have certainly not run to fat. Also I have not had problems with phlegm or bunged up lungs though I have been 5 times to the hospital here in 9 years because I could not breathe, something I would imagine a very bad asthma attack is like. When it happens it takes me possibly 20 mins to walk 10 metres. Not good.

Well, that is about all I can tell you. I do not know why it works or if it will keep working. I hope it does of course. There is one thing it did prove though, I do not have Emphysema as told by the Papworth Drs 28 years but I do ,or did, have COPD.. If it had been emphysema this unbelievable improvement would not have been posso.

I think the bottom line is I am a very, very lucky boy.

Heres hoping you will be as lucky as I have been.

All the best.

Could you please explain what AVC is to those of us in the dark? Thank you.

Hi

Apple cider vinegar.

For UK try

Hi I am glad this works for you. Copd however is the umbrella term for both emphysema and chronic bronchitis (sometimes asthma is included). Most people with either Emphysema or chronic bronchitis have mainly one with a bit of the other. I presume you just have chronic bronchitis? x

Please read and understand what I wrote.

A somewhat terse response!

I'm glad you feel so well though I confess I'm more inclined to have confidence in Papworth doctors than ACV!

Agree Frose, was a bit terse. I'm still trying to work out if the OP has had a diagnosis since 28 years ago, has still got emphysema or chronic bronchitis! I give up, if it works for him/her then great, I'm glad. Too acidic for some with delicate guts though.

As you have COPD (an umbrella term for emphysema and chronic bronchitis) and state you do not have emphysema the member is trying to clarify if you are saying that you have chronic bronchitis, because you don't actually say. :)

Thank you. That's very interesting. I suffer with a mucus problem, especially in the mornings. Recently told I have interstitial lung di ease, but not clear yet which one. In the very early stages of diagnosis, ct scan showed fibrosis in the lungs. Waiting for an appt to see another type of lung specialist. That's all I know at the moment. The wheels seem to turn very slowly. I just want to know what I'm actually dealing with. Time will tell. But relief from the mucus /throat clearing would be a plus.

Oh dear, my sympathies. I do hope you get some answers soon catwoman. Have you tried putting 'mucus/throat clearing' in the search bar above right. Might be some interesting old posts/questions/replies. P

catwoman I also suffer terribly from mucus especially on a morning...tbh I have to stop (not always possible) myself from panicking as I jst can't breathe. I think I'm gonna go back to my doctors as I only take carbocisteine and I'm not sure it does a great deal. I'd be really grateful if you could let me know if you find anything worthwhile

Hi alvorite I also suffer from a mucus problem first thing in a morning and late at night I've been taking ACV for the last 4 nights and I have found in a morning my mucus is thinned an awful lot thus enabling me to cough it up no problem....I also take carbosisteine 3 times a day but doesn't seem to do anything.....I panic like mad when I can't breathe but thus no panics at the moment but I'll let everyone know how I get on with the ACV.....put it this way it can't do any worse than I am now ....Pat
