I have stage 3 copd and on amlopidine for bp.
I am increasingly breathless. Can amlodipine be a factor in this?

Hello Molly and welcome. Sorry you're increasingly breathless, but I can't help because I don't know.
Why not see your GP to get your chest checked and you can ask him about the b/p treatment at the same time? Hope you feel better soon.Sue x
I have stage 3 COPD and I take amlodiipie like you it hasn't affected my shortness of breath, that was helped by the consulate putting me on a long lasting laba/lama. (spiolto respimat). The short acting atrovent wasn't doing me any good at all.
Hope that helps, but we are all different.
Good luck.
If it's the one I think it is (Can't take it with grapefruit?) it can cause your BP to drop very fast which could be why you're breathless. I had preeclampsia and after having my baby I was put on it in addition to labetalol. My BP ended up too low. Felt very weak and faint and tired and very SOB. Might be worth mentioning it to your doctor x
I take amlopadine and once the drs sorted me the right inhalers out it does not make my breathing worse.though I take it for reynauds syndrome not bp.helen
