Breathe easy
Shona68 that's good news for I had a letter today to attend an assessment at a pumolary rehab too it's my first time haven't a clue to what's going to happen it's next month thank god because I've had to go on my rescue pack I think I'm going to write a list like you I'm wondering how long it takes after uve had your assessment to when actually go for the treatment best wishes .
I don't have a clue either my first time to on 20 June , scary but I've been told u learn lots eek x
I'm scared to but glad perhaps now I will get more help and support which I don't think I've been getting from my doctors .
Try not to be scared, because the physios will only work you within your own limits - you're not in competition with anyone, and can only "fail" if you're ill with an infection or other illness. It may feel uncomfortable because you will get breathless but you soon learn that it's OK
You will find it beneficial, will learn a lot about managing your condition and have opportunities to ask questions
I think it saved my life when I had my first course 6 years ago, and have been on a course each year since
Good luck
I have been on 2 PR classes and I am waiting to go on another. You have 1hour exercise then 1hour educational good luck with yours you will enjoy it x
Nottobad when do you actually start the PR it s twice a week for 6weeks best wishes.
It's been a few years since my last one. I think mine was on a Monday and Wednesday but every ware is different x
Nottobad thanks for info I've just checked my letter and it says it's an introductory session is this to see if I'm suitable .
Yes titchy52 I had to see a nurse at the physio dep in a hospital and the classes were held in a primary care centre
I'll take it all on board ,feel like a freak when I go to doctors telling the all my problems,so I'm hoping someone at pr can answer all for me , x
Just say 20 June on letter at 9am doesn't say much more ,hope u heer soon so u can move forward too x
Hi you should find that with the talks given by the respiratory nurse a lot of your questions will be answered. At my PR group we also had a psychologist and an exercise expert. Occasionally we would have a guest speaker too. Good luck with it. x
Hi,
I had assessment 5 weeks ago & start breathing/exercise classes on Monday (about 6 week course I think) - that is Sussex area - probably different everywhere but time scale was one of the 1st things I asked at the assessment. I will let you know how it goes along. x Jean
Is the wait for PR different around the UK? I have been waiting 18 months. Had an acknowledgement of the application. I could really do with some help with how to exercise and cope with SOB. Any ideas?
how do you qualify for rehab, I have never been offered it?
I'm in Dundee ,I just asked my doctor ,thayll sign u up if u ask x
