Your practice should keep an eye on you and keep you up to date as to how far the emphysema has gone, etc...also help you deal with it. Inhalers, etc.....have you been to a Chronic Pulmonary Disease clinic very helpful. I have emphysema for years and I have Bronchiastasis too...great fun! Be positive and you will live a good life :)

Hi grahamrobe,

I think it's a bit hard to just give someone a diagnosis in a letter without explaining what it means and how it can be treated. There's lots that can be done to help and lots of people here who can and will support you.

If you're not seeing your consultant soon, I'd suggest going to see your GP about maybe getting an inhaler or two. You don't say what your symptoms are or if you already have any treatment.

Be well. Sue x

yes I thought so too..as did my daughter..but I pointed out that I had asked him to send the results when he sent it to my doctor.

So he did so it was my own fault really, ah will wait and see and probably go to the doctor on monday morning. And find out what is going to be done.

I get copied in to letters to my GP too. At least you know and can go armed with questions about your future care.

A little sentence about treating you might have been nice, but the world isn't always perfect. Expect you've noticed! Take care, and when you feel tired it's ok to rest. Sue xxx

Oh yes Sue. only thing I said to the consultant was that I was feeling tired and losing weight, but that would be put down to not complying with my gluten free diet .

And I have a colonoscopy and endoscopy examination tomorrow for that too, falling to bits lol

Keep PMA and find out how they think it can be best treated. Explain to people that at some point you may need to just stop for a bit no good reason trying to go past your point of breathlessness.

Be Well
