After everything calmed down we made it to Whitby (and Sandsend) for the day. The picture was taken by my wife while I slept in the car! Miss all the best bits!
Whitby for the day: After everything... - Lung Conditions C...
Whitby for the day
So glad you had a good day. If you slept your body knew what it was doing and you needed it. Magic part of the world. Aren't we lucky?
K xxxx
With all the press spreading liberal doses of doom and gloom for the Bank Holiday weather I couldn't believe how, on Whitby sands we had a short shower and then a whole day of warm sunshine.
Rarely go abroad because we still haven't found all the great places here and the dogs would get upset if we left them behind!
I am glad the weather was good for you all...one of my friends who has a lung condition is in Whitby this weekend and was worried about how the wind would affect her.
I love Sandsend and often used to go there when we lived in the area. Have they started work on the new potash mine yet?
Wwe were ready for arctic conditions but there was no wind, only one shower and I had to change my coat to something more suited to summer than winter!
Sorry, don't know about a potash mine - we did the beach (well, better half did while I snored) and the Hart Inn for a bit of late lunch.
That's a good photo of you mate - amazing what medication does lol! Seriously, a great photo and looks a lovely little dog James
Hello Y-not, lovely picture. I come from up that way actually have marital family in Whitby. Have a picture in the archives somewhere of my dad and I on the beach picking cockles or was it muscles. Have been back since then for a holiday with my friends and visit family at Great Ayton,
Lovely part of my world - reminds me of my childhood at the coast - Whitby seems to have avoided many of the modern day traits (thankfully) of fast paced living.
Hi Katie, I have a picture of Roseberry Topping on my wall at home. I bought an old photo and frame once ....it was of Captain Cooks cottage and spent ages trying to find the actual building...only to find it was dismantled and sent to Australia in 1934.
My sister-in-law is buried in Stokesley Church yard, and some of my husbands family were called Cook but don't know if they were distant relatives. It is a shame that should an historic building was sent to Australia but in them days we were a nation not an island, plus in centuries to come that part of history will survive even if our island is underwater.
Some one certainly enjoyed it,love the hair do,cute dog lovely face.
Looks a great way to spend a day; asleep or awake. I had the rubbish sickness bug.awful, I am hoping to get up today but I am all a wobble.x
Love the photo of you dog. So glad you had a good day.
Hope you had a nice day y-not. What a dear little dog. I'm sure he enjoyed his day out on the beach.
Think the dog reckons he is king of all he surveys! Lovely looking and looks very intelligent.
Gorgeous bowwow, I'm not surprised you were asleep in the car if you're up at 5 in the morning lol!😁 xxx
So glad you had a great day...love the photo of your dog.
Hope the weather stops fine today, just had a cup of tea in the garden, wonderful.
xx
Sometimes we have to take a back seat while others have all the fun but you'll soon be out there trekking those hills and beeches again cus your a bit crazy like me y-not.
Just don't go to mad to soon eh' 😁
always planned to do what I called the Park Peaks for my 60th ... never got to do that (10 National Parks in England and wanted to do them, one a day, from 1st October ending at Scarfell Pike on 10th ... my birthday) - COPD got the better of that idea but I like to think up a new challenge every now and then ... really fancy Great Gable again .....
Hi what a lovely photo. Whitby looks very nice. I live by the seaside too and took the dog down yesterday for a swim (the dog not me). I chuck the ball in and she swims out to get it. She's so funny. x
Oh, started reading and having visions of you doing the doggy paddle ... then found that you sent the dog instead .... where's your sense of adventure! 😄
Tony behave yourself I haven't much sense of adventure I'm afraid, and also I can't swim... x
No sense of adventure? But we crawl out of bed every day (well, most of them anyway) ... and so the adventure begins !!!
The most exciting thing is starting the day and never knowing how/where it will end - how much more adventure could a person want?
😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋
Well I assume some people leap out of bed eager to face the day and these are the adventures ones. I almost literally crawl out reluctantly and sit there for hours on my lappy and watching telly before I can get myself motivated to do very much. x
Ah you miss my point, sense of adventure: will it be coffee (hope so) or tea (yuck!), poached or fried eggs will she turn the heating up or claim its mild today and turn it off- oh, the adventures are endless!
Tony that's as far as my adventurous spirit takes me too... xx
glad you had a good day , what a nice surprise the weather was after the week we have had , I went into my little plastic green house yesterday morning and it was 35 degrees c , hopefully the rest of the weekend will be nice
Awwwww that's beautiful,,,,and you can't beat a day at seaside,
Gorgeous dog and photograph. You must have needed the nap
Oh I love Whitby we would go often when I was a child and walk the steps to find Draculas dogs grave . I wish I could walk those steps now
What a lovely dog! 😃 Hope you had a wonderful day.
