An oxygen device was delivered to me this morning. I have an allowance of 2 hours a day - does anyone know the best way of using this, i.e. Should I break it down into two hour slots, or say 10 minutes at a time?

Oxygen
Hi
What device, and why two hours per day what LPM?
Normally if you need oxygen at rest it would be for at least sixteen hours,
For Ambulitory oxygen when exercising and walking.
This should have been explained to you when it was delivered and also by the respiratory nurse who said you needed it
Earlier this week I was told that the sputum test I had showed I had a nasty infection for which the only solution was an antibiotic called Ciprofloxacin. The trouble is that in order to take that I must drop the Uniphyllin which I normally take twice a day. Last time this happened I found myself very short of breath so I asked my doctor if I could have some oxygen. The oxygen has been supplied by Dolby Vivisol. The person who delivered explained how to use it but not when or best practice.
Faustino I`m unclear whether your oxygen is for use when your moving around or sitting. I also don`t know whether it`s a portable flask/cylinder or a large concentrator. Why not contact the BLF nurses if you can`t get in touch with the respiritory nurse. They`ll be back tomorrow, Monday, on 03000 030 555. Sheila x
