I'm back. And better than I was...thank you all those who sent me pm's and enquired after me...
Dunno what ailed me...just slept for a couple of days...only waking up to drink copious amounts of tea...
It's been bitterly cold...extremely sharp frosts in the night and early morning, but no rain to speak of which makes a pleasant change...in fact the sun has been shining... it's light until six in the evening or thereabouts.
Nothing exciting has happened...found a chap who lived in the early 1600's in London whose name was Zealdecayes...he married a girl called Faintheart...
Himself has been puttering about the draught under the back door...entirely his fault because we had a perfectly good draught excluder that he put in the barn because he said it was a nuisance and now he can't find it...the more he mutters, the more determined I am not to make another one.
Had a letter from the OT department to say they have a backlog of people needing visits so I'll have to wait awhile...it'll give me longer to have a think about what to ask for.
Molly ran away with the dishcloth yesterday evening...can't find that either...she nicked some grapes as well and left them on the bathroom floor, so I threw them out for the birds. I gave her a kitten to play with...it was intended as a cleaner for computer screens and such like...she beats it up and races about carrying the poor creature by the scruff of its neck before hammering seven bells out of it with her back feet...some mother she'd make.
There's a shop in Norwich called Head in the Clouds...been there for years. They sell all manner of stuff including cotton shirts and trousers from Nepal...but they don't have a proper on-line website for purchases. You have to e-mail with what you'd like you see...then Jake sends photos of what he's picked out and you say that's feckin awful and I wouldn't wear it or just right Jake...thank you.
We've had a bit of correspondence going on over the past few days about a couple of shirts I ordered...me saying the one on the left of the photo and him answering it only comes in small... with me answering that it says they come in large and he replies that he was looking at the photo thinking left was right...it is a head shop as well, so he's probably stoned most of the time.
Better have something to eat...beans on toast seems reasonable.

So glad to see you are back! Always a complete delight to read your ramblings - so pleased you are feeling better. Thank you for the smiles just imagining Jake and his fecking awful clothes. Stay well xxxxx
Great that you are back to your posting best. Molly is naughty but typical cat and not too sure about the clothing website but whatever floats your boat.
Pete has Southampton tomorrow for his back and 3 year old grandson is having his tonsils out on 9th March.
Evenings were not the same without a Vashti post......glad you are back and well.
I can picture Molly and her ' kitten'.....my Burmese cat used to hunt down and 'kill' my daughters recorder, not that I blamed him...not the sweetest of sounds!
Hi Vashti, so good to know you are feeling better and a joy as ever to read your very discriptive posts,Vashti with your words you paint a lovely picture as I'm sure all on here would agree keep them coming,Jake sounds like such a character hope himself doesn't have to wait to long for a new draught excluder, take it easy have a safe and warm weekend God bless naresh62X
Glad you're feeling better, you've been missed - Molly sounds like a real live wire, lots of character and lots of laughs, bet Murphy's a bit scared of her tho'.
glad to see you back and getting better , its been bright sun shining and lovely pure blue sky here last few days , looks lovely looking out the window though I will go get something's done in the garden was absolutely freezing cold wasn't out there long before I was back indoors by the fire ,
How lovely to see you back; sounds like you are getting sorted. I think my black mini schnauzer Ollie is part cat..
He has lots of toys mostly from charity shops but he duffs up all his teddies. It's the ratter in terrier type dogs. Hunters like Mollie. As for mischief I dread to think what he and Mollie could plan. Xx
Lovely to have you back Vashti. Dear old Head in the Clouds hasn't changed an awful lot. It has carpets now and a smart counter. They don't have such big range of clothes now. Plenty of Rasta hats and mass produced trinkets for tourists.
Are you after a cheesecloth tunic or dress? Coloured and tie dyed or something plain? I will see if I can find a web site for you.
One quick way to make a draught excluder would be to get Himself to find an old blanket roll it up and tie with string.
Hi A S ....I googled Head in the Clouds shop. as it says hippy heaven.
I have just bought an Indian cushion cover and a string of those coloured birds and beads from eBay , last week.
I had been trying to declutter my house, but relented and bought some cheery coloured stuff instead. I think the birds are supposed to bring good luck, but my mother used to think the opposite.
Welcome back, Vashti. Bed has been the perfect place these last few days - the sun tempts you out and the cold makes you hurry back in. My son came over yesterday and decided to clean my conservatory windows. They were much in need of it, but he took my two tea towels from the kitchen to work with, then I gave him a bag of rags and he soaked most of those so there was some tidying up after he had gone. My plants in there look very poorly, think they might have to go. He is a good son and that is one job off my conscience.
Hope the beans on toast was enjoyed and you feel a bit stronger each day. Love Iris x
Didn't send you condolences, saw you had hundreds. knew you'd bounce (stagger?) back and was nursing agonising pain in left wrist - d'you know how much we right-handers use our lefts? Paid rare visit to doctor - GOUT! How very unromantic, even worse-sounding than lumbago and hellish painful. So glad you're wih us again, you open up whole new dimensions - take care.
Pleased your feeling better Vashti you have been missed! Head in the Clouds, that takes me back a bit, often go to Norwich and every time I think of it, then remember the narrow pavement and wonder if I would be safe on scooter, wouldn't have gone to Norwich without a visit there once upon a time! Xx
These lumps and bumps that our lungs throw up at us can be mighty upsetting. With any luck Spring is just around the corner and soon the weather will brighten lambs will start frolicking, trees will start showing their little buds and the spring flowers will start to bloom. Oh hold on a minute I am allergic to animals, as soon as the trees start to bud they start to produce pollen and so do the flowers, that's me stuffed then, I'm of to the Antarctica, no can't go there either those wrenched Emperor Penguins are already in residence and probably several BBC camera crews wearing aftershave.
Keep warm and safe, take care of yourself, as you might have guessed we missed you.
Cheers
Sue
