Thankyou for making me welcome. Whatever you are doing I hope your breathing will be good, I hope no-one catches any nasty bugs and I hope you will all be warm as toast
Furthermore a big wish that the new year will be kind to you and your families.
Hedgehogs didn't visit last night but I'll keep putting food out in case they get peckish
I don't watch a lot of tv - some programmes are too noisy, brash and bright for me - everybody seems to want to shout. I'm happy reading and sewing in the winter. Roll on spring and if the garden ever dries out that is where I'll be What about you?
Merry Christmas and a healthy new year , glad to see your enjoying the site i expect you relise I'm the quiet shy one of the group, i have been enjoying reading your posts and about your dog and the hedgehogs ,take care
Thankyou Jessy11 - I'm sure I will - my Daughter is coming; we will be talking the hind legs off quite a number of donkeys and see if we can beat each other at Scrabble..
Happy Christmas Jennifer I was only telling my husband about you and your hedgehogs this morning and how they are still feeding at this time of year. We used to see them at our caravan in wales for a number of years around dusk time I have seen as many as eight at a time but last year no sign of one. I used to put food out for them put the outside lamp on turn the lights off in the caravan and then just sit and wait for them to come.
Thankyou for your good wishes, and the same to you and yours.
That must have been quite a sight and one not to forget. Several things have caused their decline. Apparently there are only about one million in the wild now. They are such important little helpers for our gardens, all they need is access to every garden, a shallow bowl of water, and for people to stop putting slug pellets down, for the more we can save, the more they will eat. I never realised how many we had passing through our garden at night until early this year when I found them eating the sultanas left by blackbirds . They cover vast areas in the course of their nocturnal ramblings. I've learnt lots about them now and as I sleep very little at night I get lots of opportunities to see them which suits me down to the ground.
