Hi

Although there is a degree of leakage to be expected and there will signs of freezing at the point of the leak.

But what you are describing sounds excessive, have you a spare flask you can use.

Contact your provider for guidance, have they a emergency number you can use.

What rate of Oxygen do you use? When I was using liquid oxygen at a flow rate of 2litres it just about lasted 3 hours - BUT - the liquid does leak so in the cold weather it does ice up on the outside.

It got to a point that I wasn't happy with it anymore so reverted back to the solid cylinders. I now use a conserver with mine which helps to make the cylinder last longer.

I have had to have a spare and also a 'solid' cylinder after several times being let down by the liquid o2 Helios. The icing can occur if it is tipped towards the rounded side, so I found out when it happened to me. They seem to be very temperamental as well as old and unreliable.

Hi there, I would contact your liquid oxygen engineer for advice & also ask if you can have a supply of filled cylinders as a back up (my respiratory nurse sorted this out for me). I have found that my liquid oxygen only freezes (twice in primark - think it does it on purpose)! if I don't leave it to rest for an hour before I go out. My high flow stroller has a button you press to show how much 02 is left which is more handy than the one I had before which you had to lift and tip it to one side and difficult to tell if it was nearly empty. I don't know how much you use but mine lasts 5 hours if kept constantly on 3 litres per min. Good luck and hope you get it sorted out soon.

Not what you're looking for?
