Have you been tested for Diabetes? Before I was diagnosed I had a terrible thirst and my hands shook. Medication can have that effect too. My daughters hands shake too. She has asthma, arthritis and depression.

Are you on inhalers ? I was told by the oxygen team when I get shaky hands it's due to overuse of inhalers although I don't overuse anything but they never believe you.when you say you dont. The dry mouth can be a number of things sometimes the 02 or too much salt Orr r medication s your on. To keep you company I have IPF ,AF,and some other illnesses to add on but who's counting. Ha ha ..Drink plenty of water I always sip on some through the night. Good night and sweet dreams X

If you have ventalin inhaler that will make you shake. It is listed in the side effects leaflet.

If you have COPD you should be drinking plenty of fluids daily. This helps to dilute the mucus and make it easier to shift.

Hi Becrafty,I know salbutamol gives me the shakes and dry mouth could be just about any medication.Drink plenty water and maybe suck a boiled sweet,Don,t chew gum though that will make it worse.D. 💐

This might sound a BIT SILLY to non believers. .but I was born to believe that if you hit your mum when your a toddler your hands will shake when you grow up....

Personally I could be a surgeon.

Hello.

I'm a Bronchi person.

The Respitary Nurse in hospital told me Ventolin can make hands shake.

Also, if you use Seretide - always wash mouth out thoroughly after use, as it can cause oral thrush.

Hope you get some answers.

Ann ☺

i had the shakes and the nurse told me it was overuse of nebuliser have cut down to 4 a day and is a lot better.

it could be the inhalers, but sometimes it can also be deficiency of magnesium or other minerals, might it be worth it to use some supplements like floradix ?

Hi Becraftygirl, I too have a dry mouth, mostly in the morning. It is the inhalers and the meds I am on. I suck mints or chew gum (when I am at home). The other problem with your shakes could be over use of your inhalers. I have suffered this when I need to increase the inhaler use during an infection. If you are still not satisfied ask your doc for his input. Good luck, take care. Maximonkey

I have recently been diagnosed with essential tremor hands shaking all the time terrible when trying to carry things especially hot cups of tea. the up side of the disease is it can be controlled by having a few pints, but the next day you have to start all over again that can also cure your dry mouth? brilliant isn't it.frank24.

There's so many medications that have tremors and/or dry mouth as a side effect that it would be hard to tell which one was causing it if you're on a lot of them. Hopefully it will go away or get less bothersome. Mine finally did and my hands used to shake terribly like I'd been hitting the bottle too much. I always keep some iced water near for the dry mouth. That's awful waking up at night and feeling like one's mouth has turned into the Sahara desert. Keeping my mouth clean seems to help. I don't like brushing, so I got a little electric toothbrush and that was easier. Hope some of that helps you!

I have had dry mouth for a long time, the cause hasn't been identified. My dentist thinks it may be the Diabetes 2 I have. I also get the shakes, or rather jerks from time to time. I have no idea what causes them. Doctor blames medication.

Inhalers do cause problems, oral thrush and dry mouth, so they may well cause shakes too.
