Stupid Machine...

Everything was plugged in and charging this afternoon...my Kindle, the camera and the horrible, hateful Eclipse machine.

I drag it over the gravel outside and lump it up and down steps...leave it out in the rain and kick it when it gets itself jammed in a tight corner...

The minute that stupid boy went through the front door I ripped the gigantic warning sign off the front...he'd spent ages carefully smoothing it so it stuck...took a couple of seconds for me to yank it off in a temper...says Not To Be Tampered With...No Smoking...Unqualified Persons Not To Open...not walking about with that plastered all over it thank you all the same...

I mean it's quite enough to cope with a perfectly plain and ordinary ambulant oxygen cylinder...though mine is adorned with tiny key-ring teddies...not that I particularly like key-ring teddies you understand...but they were languishing at the back of a drawer...now they're pinned on the oxygen tank cover. Raises a brief glimmer of a smile from the Consultant.

My Consultant isn't one for joy and happiness.

That stupid Eclipse take absolutely forever to charge the battery...at least it's quiet while doing so...not like when it's switched on, when I should think you could hear it going if the wind was in the right direction...

There's no way I could drag it into a shop...it drowns out conversation and I wouldn't put it past it to interfere with mobile 'phone reception...there'd be all those people looking at their gadgets aghast when they couldn't use them to tell someone they're in the shop buying a sliced loaf...

I did think about giving it a name...but I could only come up with Adolf...

Of course I haven't yet tried it out on the beach or a long disused burial ground yet...the weather isn't conducive to tramping about in long grass trying to read virtually indecipherable headstones...the Atlantic shore can be a bit iffy when the wind is blowing up a gale and the rain is hammering down...

It might be perfectly fine for those locations...I might well be grumbling about a decent machine that's doing it's level best under difficult circumstances...

I could decide I love it to bits.

Doubt it though.

Do you have a wheeled trolley for the Eclipse? I would be inclined to call the infernal machine Stalin or Trotsky.

in reply to Azure_Sky

It does have a trolley...never be able to carry the stupid thing about...lol

The machine sounds like Atilla The Hun to me but what do I know?! I think you do extremely well to get about when you can but that dreaded machine just has to go everywhere with you. Don't worry about trying to like it - never gonna happen.

Wishing you well and sending kind thoughts to Atilla. xxxxxx :)

I could get used to calling it Attila actually...lol

Just imagine Vashti - if you didn't have it you would not be able to get rid of

your frustrations so well, better than thumping the animals!

in reply to emmo

Ah Yes...better to thump the horrible machine!

Steel toecaps on your slippers would help you give Attila a good kicking.
