That's a great photo, I love those dresses,
Great pic' Vashti. I have a lot like that in my tree. What always amuses me is the way they always looked so miserable! I appreciate they had to hold the pose for a while, but even so, I think a fixed smile would have looked better? I have some wedding ones whereby the looks on their faces are saying "OMG, what have I done?" lol. 
They were probably worried what was going to happen! No sex education then. The bride may have been told to do whatever her new husband tells her to do. The man may not know what is expected oh him either.
I imagine wedding nights could be pretty traumatic for genteel young ladies.
An unclothed man would have been a terrifying sight I would think.
Possibly the photos were not taken on the wedding day itself but afterwards.
Still is a terrifying sight! lol.
Hello Vashti, what a fabulous photo! Your Grandpa was looking very casual and relaxed! Don't you just love how very serious the business of having a family photograph is I still haven't started clearing and sorting my family photo's etc., out .... but I'm sure my Spring cleaning urge will overcome me soon! huff xxx

We found and lost a old family photo on my wife grandparents side. Which had a man in a boater hat but it was an exact match of my face to an extent my sister asked where we had it taken and who are the other people?
