I have severe COPD and am a CO2 retainer and after a sleep study test was prescribed a Bi-Pap machine. I also am on 1/2 litre of oxygen for min 15 hours daily. Well, have been using it for over 9 nights and yet am still awake for most of the night. Wondered if anybody had experienced anything similar?

I was told I am co2 retainer but don't really understand what that means but they put me on 02 with the mask and it has helped me sleep a lot better. They did suggest a bi-pap machine but said it takes time to adjust to wearing it. I have IPF and Asthma. I was only sleeping for a couple of hours coughing as well but I get a good few hours sleep now. Hope you get sorted Malinka some other replies may help. Good luck IMELDA
same time? My son is supposed to wear bi- pap. He won't wear it. Hes always falling asleep during the day.I guess it's a real pain to wear. Good luck with that.
Fortunately, there is a tube fitted onto the bi-pap so it is just the nasal covering without having prongs up my nostrils. I am going to the hospital for a review of Nippy so maybe they can give me more advice. You can have either a nasal or the facial. It might be worth asking advice from the hospital that supplied your son's machine?
